Honoring her mother's wishes and dreams for her, Dianne is all fired up & inspired to make her country proud. In addition to having attractive looks, she has a light personality and a deep-thinking brain that could easily impress the entire judging panel.

Why did you join the Miss Aruba Pageant?

I have been approached during a shopping afternoon at a supermarket and I was thrilled. Miss Aruba was not in my dreams. I was in my last year of high school and was focusing to continue my study in the Netherlands. Afterwards I have been convinced to join and I saw it as a once in a lifetime experience, a challenge and an opportunity to show the world my country.

If you would become the Miss universe 2009, what will be the first thing you will do!

First of all, I would like to thank God for this opportunity and feel the happiness of fulfilling my mother’s dream who was my pusher, now my inspiration and guide.

What is the most unique or the most unusual thing had happened in your life?

I should say the death of my mother. It was in a moment where I needed her most; she was my support, my pusher for my participation at the Miss Aruba and the Miss Universe Pageant. It were difficult moments but with the support of my family and sustains of my organization I gone through it with the advice of my mother...  never give-up, fight for yours dreams and fulfill your goals. In life, you encounter obstacles and obstacles are necessary for success; victories come only after many struggles and countless defeats.

Do you think swimsuit contest at beauty pageants degrades women?

Swimsuit contest at beauty pageants do not degrade women. It is more than just the physical beauty; it’s the impression of being confident, poised and graceful and the opportunity to see how well you maintain your good health and physical fitness.

Could you give us a rough idea of what will be your national costume for Miss Universe 2009 and what does it represent?

It's called "Princess of Casibari."

What are the three most important things that you will be bringing with you at Miss Universe 2009?

My fighting spirit, my positive attitude and a picture of my mother for the inspiring moments.

Any beauty secrets that you would like to share the readers of Missosology?

My recommendation to all of the readers is to have a healthy diet, a good exercise program, and plenty of rest. I am convinced that loving your soul and body is the key to a long life. Feel good, look great!

Which shoes would you prefer: Jimmy Choo or Manolo Blahnik?

I don't have any preferences in designers' shoes. Their designs are fabulous. It is more on what you’re looking for in terms of style or fashion.

What your favourite colour and why?

Purple. I feel it's like a combination of stability and energy associated with both nobility and spirituality.

What does the victory of Barack Obama is US Presidential elections mean to you and your country?

The victory of Barack Obama means hope for change, openness and optimism. The victory raises great hopes around the world to solve the world’s problems. A better world benefits my country as today; tourism is the main pillar of the Aruban economy.

Lastly can you give a message to Missosology.org and all pageant fans around the world?

My message is very simple. "Be yourself!" It's as if saying… be real, be authentic and let the true you shine through. Fight for your dreams and your personal growth. I think someone should always look to grow, as long as they aren’t trying to find fulfilment or happiness through an end result. Really being yourself can make life a lot more peaceful and much more of an adventure, rather than stressful and a struggle.
