We hate to refer to Avalon's appeal as exotic, bearing in mind her Eurasian roots, but there is something very distinct about her. All-around fabulous, she is one of nature's most subtly striking creations. All heads are turning to admire her cool yet intense looks.

In the sea of beautiful universal women who will set foot in the Bahamas, what should make you stand out?
I think that the unique mix of my personality is making me stand out. Because of my Asian roots I’m a little bit modest, but self-confident. My Dutch influence makes me free and have the will to enterprise. I also love to experience many different cultures, travel a lot and being international.
If you could trade places with any other famous person for a week, real or fictional, with whom would it be & why?
I would like to be Princess Maxima Zorrequieta of the Netherlands. She’s originally from Argentina, but since she married Prince Willem-Alexander, she moved to Holland. Her father, Jorge Zorrequita, had something to do with the military junta-government from Videla, so the people in Holland were against her father coming to the marriage of Maxima and Alexander. She managed to put herself through all of this and to adapt herself to the Dutch culture. She respected the people in the Netherlands on the decision that her father wasn’t allowed to come to the wedding, she openly disagreed the military junta-government. It was a very hard decision for her. She still is in very good contact with her father; she knows how to deal with hard decisions. Even in the mix of personal and business-like situations, which are important for the rest of the country, or even for the world. I’ve got a lot of respect for her and I’m proud that she’s our princess!
What is your worst quality?
Sometimes I have problems getting out of bed early in the morning.
Describe your fashion sense & style.
Classic, with a personal touch. Not too normal.
What's inside your bag right now?
Phone, wallet, keys, agenda, pictures of my family, make-up bag and tissues.
Any beauty secrets that you would like to share the readers of Missosology?
Eat biological food! Everyday moisturize yourself with coconut body lotion.
What is your personal quote or motto that you live by?
“El mundo es mio.” (The world is mine)
What would your friends say to describe you?
Modest, open-minded, self confident and happy!
Tell us about your preparations for the Miss Universe contest.
It’s a very nice hectic period and I’m really enjoying every minute of this preparation time! I’m eating healthy and watching the news around the world, besides all the interviews with TV, radio & newspapers. And of course preparations like the fittings with the designers, meetings with the performance coach, catwalk training and photo shoots and I’m busy with relating myself with a charity. I really want to make a difference. Not only be just the face of a charity, I really want to work for that charity. That’s why I want to be very sure when it comes to deciding which charity fits best.
If Hollywood made a movie about your life, whom would you like to see play the lead role as you?
Beyoncé Knowles.
One of your co-candidates decides to visit your country, where would you take her?
Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, it’s thé place to visit as a tourist. The beautiful old canals with little bridges through the city are very special. Also I would show her the Van Gogh Museum, where you can see a lot of his art pieces. And if she would be here on April 30th, she can see the city in orange, because it’s Queen’s day and we celebrate the birthday of our Queen Beatrix! I would also show her the windmills and the green fields with all the tulips that are representing Holland.
If you were a type of food, what type of food would you be?
I would be “Celery”- fresh, healthy and sparkling green.
If you were written about in the newspaper, on the front page, what would the headline say?
“We have a new Miss Universe 2009! A miss with a mission.”
Lastly, what's your special message to the worldwide visitors of Missosology, most specially to your fans & supporters?
It’s an honor for me to represent my country and I will take on everything that comes on my path- 100%! Thank you all for supporting me.
