The question would be: "Who are we referring to when we talk about a Peruvian woman that represents integrally the beauty of her country?"
In the sea of beautiful universal women who will set foot in the Bahamas, what should make you stand out?
My willpower to fight and succeed. Trying to be the best in everything I get involved with, thanks to my efforts. I believe in me and in everything I am worth of. I know I am a good representative of the beauty of my country and I will prove it in the Miss Universe pageant.
If you could trade places with any other famous person for a week, real or fictional, with whom would it be & why?
I would trade places with actress Angelina Jolie because she is one of the biggest representatives of the beauty in the world of acting and an icon of fashion. Angelina has done it well in mixing her success with the world’s reality, getting involved with charities around the world, helping the poor people through humanitarian causes. This social involvement has made her obtain several acknowledgements such as the good will ambassador title given to her by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
What is your worst quality?
I’d say my worst quality is being perfectionist, nevertheless it all depends on the context that it is seen. When I want something to be good, it has to be perfect, but there are times in which that can become an obstacle.
Describe your fashion sense & style.
My fashion sense will always be related to the trends of the times we live in. My style will be related with my personality which could reflect elegance on one side or a casual and simple image on the other, depending on the year or age we’re currently in.
What's inside your bag right now?
Definitely what’s always in my bag are my cosmetic products, a small mirror, a hairbrush, toothbrush, Kleenex, my wallet with identification cards, my credit cards, cell phone, my calendar, a pen, a pair of high heels and the keys to my house.
Any beauty secrets that you would like to share the readers of Missosology?
Avoid stressful situations. Give thanks to God for everything we have today and not to live anxiously for whatever we are missing or lacking of. Everything has a solution and to worry too much about problems will always cause a reflection in our face.
What would your friends say to describe you?
What my friends usually say about me is that I am a very original person, creative, smart, capable of finishing what I started, a child-lover and who gets upset in front of the indifference that some people show towards different realities. I enjoy each moment of my life and I am always ready to take the challenges I encounter in my path.
What is your personal quote or motto that you live by?
One of the phrases that definitely identifies me and that I always have in mind since I started to compete when I was very young up until today is “Don’t count the failures, count the experiences. What you call a failure today is not more than the experience that you will need to succeed tomorrow.”
Tell us about your preparations for the Miss Universe contest.
Preparations for Miss Universe have been hard. After obtaining the title of Miss Peru Universe 2009, we did not try or look for a radical change, but to prepare myself both physically and emotionally, putting more emphasis on the “weak” aspects. I continued going to the gym, maintaining my swimming training, I dedicated myself integrally to reinforce my knowledge in makeup, public speech and pasarella (walking).
If Hollywood made a movie about your life, whom would you like to see play the lead role as you?
If I had to choose someone to play the role of me in a movie, I believe the best candidate would be myself because there would be nobody better than oneself to interpret our own stories and experiences in life. From what I have lived and learned, it is clear to me that we have to be prepared to take the new challenges of life, and be able to get prepared adequately for it.
One of your co-candidates decides to visit your country, where would you take her?
Nowadays, Peru is known as one of the countries with the biggest variety in gastronomy, folklore and archaeological sites. The most important point to visit is one of the seven wonders of the world: Machu Picchu, but also I would recommend to fly over the Nazca Lines, to visit the beaches in the northern part of Peru such as Puerto Fiel and Mancora, to finally visit the Amazonic jungle, region that I represented in Miss Peru Universe.
If you were a type of food, what type of food would you be?
As I previously said, Peru is known for the variety of its gastronomy, I would definitely choose the Peruvian food in all its extension! The Peruvian food includes a fusion of cultures, a mixture of extraordinary flavors, with unique spices and native ingredients, which altogether transport the person who tries it to a new world of sensations. But if I have to choose a specific dish, I would choose one of the most mentioned by the tourists that visit our country- the “Ceviche.” It has an exquisite mixture of flavors and its presentation is creative.

Lastly, what's your special message to the worldwide visitors of Missosology, most specially to your fans & supporters?
The Miss Universe pageant is an opportunity that we have to show not only the beauty but the values of our countries. I am very proud to be able to represent my beloved Peru. I am very thankful for all the unconditional support of those around me especially to all those who have given me their best wishes, advise and supporting words to go ahead in this journey that has just begun.
