Miss Universe 2009 Hot Picks Week 3

There is no doubt that online polls are inherently unscientific but it should not be dismissed instantly. Our poll for Hot Picks Week 3 for example shows some interesting trend. Miss Mexico Karla Carillo for example received 5% of the votes cast but in our statistics show that a mere 3% of those who visited the poll are from Mexico. It could mean two things: 1.) not all Mexicans voted for Miss Mexico or 2.) because we asked you to pick fifteen delegates, the supposed "nationalistic" bias was eliminated. But of course there are so many other factors that govern this trend. For example, not all computers in Mexico are owned by Mexicans, etc. etc.

What is important though is the public choice. That is the gist of this result. This week, Miss South Africa Tatum Keshwar plummeted to the 5th place while Miss Kazakhstan Olga Nikitina moved a rank higher. Miss Venezuela Stefanía Fernández remained on the sixth position. While newbies Russia and the Philippines landed on the top 15 days after they were crowned. But remember, Sofia Rudieva is not yet a confirmed delegate for Miss Universe 2009.
