Analyzing the Miss Earth 2004 Candidates

MENU: Argentina-El Salvador | Ethiopia-Paraguay | Peru-Uruguay

Miss Paraguay Yanina Gonzalez, Miss Philippines Tamera Szijarto, Miss Poland Karolina Gorazda

Miss Ethiopia, Ferehiyewot Abebe- This black beauty boasts seductive looks. Her innocent face is seductively charming. Our only problem with her is her runway skills. She needs to control the catwalk and not let the gown carry her. Let the experiences from her stint in the Miss Universe pageant help her. Rating: 87

Miss Finland, Iida Laatu- Undeniably sexy. She's the kind of lady who is appealing to every man. Her looks remind us of beauties in the 70's. In the long gown competition, Iida sported a frustrating gown that best suits a high school student headed to a prom. Rating: 85

Miss France, Audrey Nogues- There's nothing much going on with this frenchwoman. Rating: 74

Miss Ghana, Maame Afua Akyeampong- The woman oozes charm and makes us say ohhh-la-la! A unique black beauty with a towering 6"0 height, her only wish is that luck will be at her side. Rating: 84

Miss Guatemala, Mirza Odette Garcia- Mirza always steps out with much liveliness. One of the pleasant beauties in the pageant, her height might kill her chances though. Rating: 80

Miss Honduras, Gabriela Zavala- Whether it was her daring black number she wore in the Long Gown Competition or her winning National Costume, Gabriela is all great by our standard! Her style is fashionable yet young and very sophisticated. Is there anyone who foresees a back-to-back victory for Honduras? Gabriela, like the reigning Miss Earth Dania Prince, suits the Filipino's taste in beauty. Rating: 93

Miss India, Jyoti Brahmin- In the Long Gown Competition, we were alarmed to see her clad in a cheesy gown printed with big white polka dots. Her moves were also raw. This is quite surprising because Indian beauties are masters of the runway and their gowns usually leave watchers drooling. Anyway, this is where Jyoti scored big points: magnetic eyes and irresistable projections that are hard to resist. Rating: 87

Miss Israel, Keren Somech- Keren has great chances to make it as one of the 16 semifinalists this year. Being an International Marketing Manager, she's always polite and well mannered. Her charm is also undeniable. Rating: 87

Miss Korea, Heajin Cho- Here comes another doll from Korea. With her nice body & great gown, Heajin should also be taken seriously. Score: 85

Miss Lebanon, Lana Khattab- She's very photogenic and her placid beauty radiates on you. Although she tends to be stiff and needs to loosen up a bit. Score: 82

Miss Malaysia, Lee Law- Lee should find her place in the pageant and hope that she fits the Miss Earth standards. As of the moment, we don't think she could offer Malaysia its first placing in the pageant. Score: 75

Miss Mexico, Valentina, Cervera- We are clueless about her chances. Her potentials are hard to find. Score: 76

Miss Nepal, Anita Gurung- Know this -- this beauty has brains. Her interview scores will be high because her thoughts are very engaging. Score: 79

Miss Netherlands, Saadia Himi- She has a very pretty face, a bubbly personality, nice figure but her packaging needs improvement. Score: 82

Miss New Zealand, Rachael Tucker- She is confident and blessed with a body that many young women would kill for. She can make it. Score: 84

Miss Nicaragua, Marifely Arguello- Earlier, Marifely was named Miss Titan- an award given to the most down to earth contestant. She's at par with the other stunners from Latin American countries. When asked about her expectations in the pageant, she says "I'll try my best to make it." Score: 87

Miss Norway, Birgette Korsvik- She needs training in terms of her catwalk skills. Her beautiful face and creamy skin are her pluses. But she's way too reserved in her ways. Score: 80

Miss Paraguay, Yanina Gonzalez- It certainly helps that she is drop dead gorgeous. Yanina put so much excitement in this year's edition of Miss Earth. Who would've thought that the heavy favorite candidate and 3rd runner-up in the Miss Universe 2004 pageant decides to join Miss Earth? According to Yanina, she was an active member of an environmental organization in her country. "I didn't win Miss Universe because I don't speak English," says Yanina. She believes that her chances in the pageant are also high since Miss Earth crowned a Spanish-speaking contestant last year. The timeless beauty of her face makes Yanina our favorite shot. It is impossible to resist a woman so close to perfection! If she was just at ease with everybody, Yanina would definitely be our first choice for the Miss Earth crown. Score: 97
