Puerto Rico, the shining star of the Caribbean, is famous for its beautiful women. In this year's Miss Universe pageant, our eyes would turn to their latest creation- Zuleyka Marie Rivera. There is something to be said about their track record in the pageant: Alba Reyes placed as 2nd runner-up in 2004 while Cynthia Olavarria as 1st runner-up in 2005! Now Zuleyka is expected to surpass her predecessors' accomplishments as well as attempt to knockout Venezuela as the second country with the most number of Miss Universe crowns. Puerto Rico is indeed a pageant powerhouse, producing four Miss Universe titleholders, a feat which is only surpassed by the USA, and tied by Venezuela.

Zuleyka herself affirms that she has by no means submitted herself to surgery but is still open to that idea if it's for the sake of completing her look for Miss Universe. But we argue that she's already naturally sculpted like a goddess and no further surgical procedure is needed.

English rules! One of Zuleyka's goals is to overcome her "fear in English." As of now, she is allotting more time for her English classes which materialize every Mondays to Fridays. "Just like most Puerto Ricans, I understand the language very well but it gives me a lot of fear the moment I try to speak it. I'm the type of person who prefers to remain silent if unsure of what to say. I am also having a hard time pronouncing English words clearly," she confessed. Beyond all hesitations, she still opts to express herself in English at Miss Universe. "It's always a different case if you put your own thoughts & emotions into words without the help of an interpreter. I don't want to lose the charming part of conveying my own emotions."

In addition to winning the Miss Puerto Rico Universe title, Zuleyka will be featured in a Pepsi commercial in Colombia. She's also an image model of Pantene.

Let's admit it- what Puerto Rico is producing lately is a bona fide success. Zuleyka's knockout characteristics which include her sultry looks, ivory skin, beautiful hair & brown eyes, make her a perfect candidate for Miss Universe. With her exquisiteness & competitiveness, what more can you ask for?
