We envisaged, even before we sat down with our beauty connoisseur council that Alice
Panikian's victory as Miss Universe Canada is a dream come true. We look at her with promise and desire. She possesses the qualities that spur interest of many pageant buffs worldwide. To put in bluntly, she has the persona of a Miss Universe. Alice is on the ball and headed to make an impact in the pageant industry.

Alice Panikian won the Miss Universe Canada 2006 title hands down at an event held at the Casino de Montreal on
March 21, 2006. Her court includes 1st runner-up Ana Zotovic, 2nd runner-up Angela Triantafyllakis, 3rd runner-up Fanny Samaniego & Galyna Skrypnyk, 4th runner-up. Alice was also adjudged Miss Photogenic & Best in Swimwear. Asked what she felt about winning & her views on pageantry, she replied "I don't really like the term 'beauty pageant.' Beauty is certainly a part of the competitions, but intellect and personality also play a huge role. I think of it more as a competition, not a pageant. It's more about intelligence.
It's changing towards a realistic look as opposed to the Barbie look."
This chestnut haired exquisite beauty has modeled in Paris, Milan, New York and Toronto. From the face down, she typifies what a model should be. She would not have attained the position she is at now if she lacked the usual prerequisites of a model. Her face, and especially her tallness, is instantly recognizable. Alice has a thing about fashion & shopping as well as traveling and meeting new people.
It is interesting to note that only a few years ago, Alice was an awkward child teased for being tall. She said she wasn't always self-confident, especially because of her towering height and what she calls her natural weight -- 130 pounds. Inspired by her own school experiences, Panikian also plans to speak out against bullying. "You should think twice about making fun of people," she says. "You never know what they might make of themselves one day."
