She has an infectious smile, an effortless grace & a sparkling attitude that can turn even the most jaded bachelor into raptures. With such impressive credentials in her resume, this Filipina proves that she's got the goods to back up her delightful looks. Besides always looking totally at ease in front of everybody, she's highly equipped with the right qualities that would be useful to her aim of taking home the Mikimoto tiara for her pageant-frenzied fellowmen.

 

Lian, to her kins, peers and friends, is the eldest among four children from a middle-class family. Her mother, Sally is a nurse while her dad Ferdinand is a former bank executive and popular golf enthusiast. She was born & raised in Davao- a tourist attraction and investment hub in the Philippines. "I love going to the beach. I'm just a sun baby and going to the beach with friends and family is really fun for me. I also love seafood!" she admits. Lian is a Political Science graduate from the University of the Philippines.

 

For years her talent agent Jonas Gafud has been pushing her to join the Bb. Pilipinas tilt but it was only this year that she decided to do so. "I felt it was the right time, I have the confidence. If I didn't join this pageant now, I know I will regret it. I will regret it that I did not try. That's the first step to winning because we have been told that not trying is tantamount to losing. I am at the cut-off age. I have been wooed to join since 2001 and kept declining. An inner voice told me that this time I am ready."

 

Lia Andrea Ramos was named Binibining Pilipinas-Universe during the coronation night of the Bb. Pilipinas pageant held in Quezon City, March 4 2006. It was no wonder that she got the judges' nod as she stood out throughout the evening & easily outshone the rest of her co-competitors. She nearly swept all special awards at stake which include Miss Photogenic, Best in Swimsuit, Miss Philippine Airlines and Mane and Tail's Best Hair. Lian also gave one of the best answers  in Bb. Pilipinas history during the q&a round, one that was characterized by poise, confidence and impeccable flow of thought. When asked where she wanted to live aside from the Philippines, Lian replied, "I want to live in France. I am a Francophile and I've always been fascinated by its culture and language; it's always been my dream to live in France where you can celebrate democracy... brotherhood...and as the saying goes: 'C'est la vie!.' Make no mistake about her clincher; it was not a put on. Lian, in fact, has studied French at Alliance Francaise de Manille.

 

What's so instantly likeable about Lia is her being a smooth talker and she is always at her best! During the Bb. Pilipinas pageant, she was unquestionably the "big favorite" of the local press. She was also well-liked by everybody from the chaperons to common people. Her imposing figure & beautiful Filipina looks may well work at Miss Universe. She epitomizes the ideal prototype of Filipina beauty. Lia stands 5'8" tall, weighs 113 lbs. and measures 34.5-23-34.5. To stay beautiful, she reveals, "I exercise at least three times a week. I refrain from smoking and eating oily and deep fried food and of course I maintain a good hygiene."
