After having won two international beauty titles wearing Miss Venezuela sash, Francys took everyone by surprise when she decided to vie for the Miss Polonia crown. Unknown to many, this smoldering crown catcher has lived most of her life with her Polish mother in Poland. Missosology finds out what it is she really has- and still wants.
What would your friends say to describe you?
They would say that I am a humble & calm woman with an enterprising personality, a very persistent person who keeps going forward to
fulfill
her dreams and never giving up. They would also say that I am kind and optimistic with so much charisma, always
willing to help, listen and encourage them in any
circumstance. That I also tend to be very dedicated and focused in my goals. An honest & confident girl who can hold her own and always trying to enrich her knowledge through learning from every person and experience and enjoying every moment in her life with a big
smile
and
sharing with the people around her the best thing that resides in her soul and her heart.
Tell something about your childhood dream.
I had several dreams when I was a child. One thing I liked doing the most back then was listening to instrumental music. I kept saying that I would become a professional pianist someday. I loved playing my
favorite
toy, which was a plastic piano for several hours a day. Also I liked acting, I remember
myself
disguising
and
imitating people close to me like my friends and family. Every time my mother comes back from work and she was tired or sad, my brothers and I would set a small theatre show just to make her feel better. I loved seeing her smile. When I was 12, I went to a theater school but just for a year. Nowadays, my passion varies from sports
to
my career as an accountant but I still love instrumental music and I would like to be an actress.
Can you share to us your beauty secret?
I think that in order to look well and feel good, you must dedicate a part of your daily life to external and internal exercises. Find time for a
habitual
workout for at least 45 minutes per day, eat
healthy
foods, try to rest as much as you can and keep yourself feeling relaxed. When possible, I do classes of yoga or meditation. They are very important because it offers me with several benefits such as flexibility, energy, internal peace and more good feelings for my life. I also take a very quick wash with very cold water at least 2 times per day. That is good for the skin and the health!
What is your favorite part of your body & why?
My favorite parts are my eyes, my teeth and my abdomen. My eyes- because of its impact and expressiveness. They are green but in the center is the color yellow just like the form of the sun. My teeth because I like their form.
And my abdomen
wow! A thousand thanks to
God! Because of proper diet, I maintained its form despite the fact that one of the
exercises which I do not like to do very much is abdominals or
sit-ups!!!
(laughs...)
What's inside your bag right now?
My wallet, personal documents, my small notebook where I write down all the activities to be done during the day, my keys, perfumes, lip gloss, and a small stamp of the Virgin of Carmen and Sacred Heart of Jesus.
How
would
you
define
"beauty?"
It's that
marvelous
magic or quality present in each person and existent in this world. When I emotionally observe it and listen to it, it produces wonderful sensations like peace, attraction, passion, happiness, love and all beautiful emotions that make me sigh and smile. It is something spectacular. That is beauty for me.
What
were
your reasons for joining
the
Miss
Poland pageant?
The factors were admiration and fascination for beauty contests. The incentives and support
that
I am receiving from my family and friends helped me assume that great challenge. Poland has seen me grow, gave me so many opportunities throughout the beautiful years of my life and I wanted to represent it. It means so much to me.
How were you elected as
Miss
Poland
Universe? Describe the judging process.
From the first day of the competition, we have been evaluated in a general way, considering the interview with the jury and the presentation with the press. In the final night, the process includes the same one like in other beauty
contests, taking into consideration our appearance and personality. From the total group of candidates, the jury selected the finalists then ultimately picking the top winners as well as awarding different prizes and gifts. Fortunately, I was chosen and called a few weeks later to represent Poland in the Miss Universe
contest. I am privileged and very proud of that.
What do you think are your qualities that helped you earn the
judges' approval & the crown?
I consider my hope, self-confidence, immense desire and happiness during the contest as the aspects that they considered. I dedicated all my knowledge and love to every activity, I always showed fulfillment, positivism, and during the
preparations I would always think that I can do it. Those aspects I think helped me get that amazing chance.
Tell us about your preparations for the Miss Universe contest.
I am being prepared by an excellent group of people. I am also exercising externally and internally. I dedicate most of my time to it. My trainers are always changing the style of my preparations to make it different.
Can you tell something that is so interesting or unique about you?
I like to be in contact with nature & the environment. I can spend hours and hours appreciating the fresh natural wonders of the earth while reading a book and listening to the melodies of the birds and the sound of the wind. It is something that I can appreciate
anytime because in Poland, there are many places where you can appreciate nature. Actually, I live in a town that is surrounded by forests. It is
lovely! I love flowers so much and I would buy a couple for myself at least two times a week.
Any beauty queen/s that you really admire? Why?
I will not name
any
one in particular because I admire them all because of the simple fact that they were able to reach that supreme goal. With
the effort and dedication that they have shown, it
helped
them
obtain that great
triumph from the beginning until the end of their reign.
Describe your fashion sense and style.
I like to be always comfortable. My style is natural, fresh and very feminine with an elegant and sensual
touch
to
it, but
it
should
be
always comfortable and ideal for any occasion.
How
will you describe your country to your co-candidates at Miss Universe?
It's a country with
beautiful colorful
landscapes. The spring fields are covered with flowers while the wonderful natural parks are adorned with rows of forests. The Mazura lakes & rivers have natural & magical kind of beauty. During winter the panorama from the mountains such as Tatry, Beskidy and Sudety is breathtakingly awesome. It is where the highlanders live and diffuse culture. You can
enjoy
the
gorgeous beaches at the Baltic Sea. We still conserve our medieval castles. The churches bare gothic structures- some are just made of wood. Our monuments being restored testify the kind of preservation & importance we have for our history. Our
internationally-acclaimed
artists and leaders
such as Frederic Chopin, Marie S. Curie, Nicolas Kopernico and our Leader, the Lovely Father John Paul II are benchmarks of our nation. Poland has fascinating sites and its beauty is unfading. The beautiful people of Poland are hospitable yet fighters with
a
heart full of amiability,
honor
and with sense of solidarity. The food is wide-ranging and delicious...
mmmhhh!!!
...And
that's
the only
small part of my beautiful country that I
can keep talking about!
(wink!) Poland is a
paradise!
What is your opinion on
activists' point of view that exposure of too much skin in the swimsuit competition disrespects women?
Everyone should be responsible for his or her own decisions and actions. I think the purpose of the swimsuit competition is just to show our silhouette, our external beauty and be admired in an artistic point of view. It was not made to disrespect women. The opposite sex must appreciate the fact that we work hard to achieve the kind of figures that we have. There are other forms of showing disrespect to women. We have our own opinions depending on our personal beliefs, education and outlook, and it is something that must be respected.
Supposed there is a Genie who happens to be mad at you for a wrong deed committed and his punishment is to turn you into an animal for a year. You can't plead to alter his decision but you get to decide what type of
animal you would become, what creature would you choose and why?
I would choose to be a Dolphin. I find dolphins to be very adorable.
I've had the opportunity to swim with them in a pool. They are very intelligent and are able to develop an extraordinary mentality. They are not just obedient and inoffensive but also very sociable animals that can be considered
as
friends to humans. Usually, they live in groups
and
help each other. They are
carefree
and
loving creatures that play a lot. They seem to be happy all the time so I would
choose to be that beautiful sea animal.
If it were your last day on earth, what would you eat & why?
In addition to all the things that I would like to do during that day, I would take with me a fruit or a chocolate bar on my way to heaven. I
don't think that I would have the appetite to eat though.
;(
Do you have a motto or personal quote that you live by?
"Love is the strongest feeling, it gives sense to life and with
it... everything is
possible!" &
"The future is for those people who believe in the beauty of their
dreams," by Eleanor Roosevelt
Aside from winning your title,
what's the best thing that has ever happened to you?
Belonging to two wonderful countries and having that extraordinary mix. I have the best things from both countries and they have offered me magnificent moments and opportunities in my life. I can definitely and proudly say with so much love that it is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. It makes me feel very happy to be Polish Venezuelan, or Venezuelan Polish. It is
incredible!
Do you think winning a beauty pageant is really important? Tell us about your responsibilities as
Miss
Poland
titleholder.
Yes, in my opinion it is very important. It is where we give our best to obtain a goal. For me, that is something that I consider when I began participating in pageants. Winning a title will put you in a position to assume responsibilities as the new queen. Being Miss Poland Universe, I have had the responsibility to work with different organizations that help people in my country. Aside from that, I am participating in charity events and activities that support the welfare of people. Also, I have the responsibility to maintain an image since I am representing Polish women.
Why do you want do be crowned Miss Universe and how would you define the title in your own terms?
Miss Universe is something that I have always followed and admired. Year after year, the winner of this contest does a great job in exerting much effort to fulfill responsibilities. As Miss Universe, you offer great satisfaction and provide encouragements to others. The feeling of happiness cannot be quantified every time you contribute something to the world. The title does not only give wonderful things and opportunities but also gives the winner a chance to use her potentials fully. The Miss Universe title, for me, is a key that allows you to open a door and enables you to give support, satisfaction and happiness. Knowing that you are doing a great job as well as learning and experiencing greater things in life as an ambassador not just of your country but also of the whole universe is incomparable.
What should pageant experts, your fellowmen, fans and beauty watchers expect from Miss
Poland
at Miss Universe 2006 pageant?
As Miss Poland, I will participate in Miss Universe having full of pride, full of enthusiasm and energy. I will use all my knowledge and give love, with my feet firmly planted on the ground. With each step I make, and with each person
I'll meet, I will try to leave a small yet essential part of my beautiful Poland.
Finally, leave a message for your fans, supporters and the readers of Missosology.
Your encouragement means so much to me. Thanks for all your affection and your kind support. Coming from my heart, thank you. God bless you.
