Tête-à-tête With Our Favorite Miss Universe 2008 Delegates
Venezuela-Dayana Mendoza
Well, with Dayana one can always be out of words. She's Queen Dayana you know! But she's no fool. While everyone thinks she's the instant winner at the prelims, she is not taking things for granted. When we pressed on whether she thinks she will win, she hinted that anything is still possible at Miss Universe 2008!
Dominican Republic-Mariane Cruz
She was usually below our radar sweep but Mariane still creates that nagging feeling that she might pull out a surprise. One of the most memorable thing about Mariane is not her swimsuit nor her gown prelims but her National Costume. Confident that she will win, Mariane is a lady to watch!
Mexico-Elisa Najera
No one will blame you if you think that Elisa Najera will eventually win the Miss Universe 2008 crown. After winning the swimsuit "mini-contest" all eyes are on her. But Elisa knows that it does not count on the final scores so she is focusing on the real contest. She is a sure top 15 semi-finalists for us. It is fitting indeed that she'd better hone her weapons for the next battle ahead.
Panama-Carolina Dementiev
Carolina has a kind of spirit and aura that can really cheer you up! She's very natural and she speaks direct from her heart. There would be little wonder if she ends up getting a very good score at the interview. Just listen on how she speaks and how she answers questions!
Philippines-Jennifer Barrientos
Miss Philippines Jennifer Barrientos did not do something spectacular at the prelims but she did what she is supposed to do - be natural. Jennifer is sweet and she always speaks with confidence. She talks to Missosology.Org all about her prelim performance and she also answered the question regarding the misspelled country name on her sash. Whether she will land at Top 15 or not, all the Filipino fans should be proud of her!
Jen is one of the few delegates that was brought in at the press center for interview. Not all delegates were there. Only those with media request were brought in. Jen was requested by ABS-CBN (Nina Corpuz was there), the Philippine Tatler and of course, Missosology.Org!
Australia-Laura Dundovic
Laura is probably a top 15 material that everyone might have overlooked. She's sweet, natural and she does not have the burden nor the pressure to win. This would ensure that she is indeed all natural. Her prelim performance is not really spectacular but she did well. Are we seeing another Jennifer Hawkins here?
Colombia-Taliana Vargas
Taliana is a wonderful lady that possesses both sophistication and elegance. There is no doubt that she is the attention getter at the gown preliminaries and she did well as well at swimsuit although it should be stressed that she did not ace this segment. Two Colombian media outlets covered the event and Missosology.Org even gave its impression on Taliana over RCN radio through Emiro Ochoa.
Taliana is the hottest delegate in the press presentation where each media outlet is allowed to ask questions for just a minute! That is because the other media outlets are lining up for Taliana (Note: The direct opposite is Miss China where it seems only a few Vietnamese newspapers interviewed her)! Ester Swan, part of Miss Universe PR is guarding Taliana very well making sure that the interviews are quick as possible. We asked Taliana what she thinks about the fact that she is the first ever Hot Picks leader of Missosology.Org for Miss Universe 2008.
It's a pleasure that people from all over the world have seen the spirit, the beauty from inside which is the most important one. For now I am just enjoying this great experience. So for me it is a great honor for being the first [Hot Picks leader] at Missosology.
Puerto Rico-Ingrid Rivera
There is something about Ingrid that makes us feel she's not going make it to the top 15. The way she say answered our question - "Do you think you are going to win?" contains hints that she felt that luck is not on her side. But she has a big heart and a fierce fighting spirit and that makes her a potentional top 15. Contrary to what gossip-mongers have been saying (and thereby misleading the general public), Ingrid's interview went well. She knows Missosology.Org and she's proud to represent Puerto Rico - an Enchanted Island she loves so much.
We just felt sorry for Ingrid because there are traces in her face that she is tired and she's beginning to lose hope. As we have said, she failed to amaze us during the preliminaries and can easily be drowned by more spectacular delegates. We know that Missosology.Org is popular in Puerto Rico as we talked with our fellows from El Nuevo Diario. They even wanted to know our top 15 predictions! El Nuevo Diario had been quoting Missosology.Org for several years now!
India-Simran Kaur Mundi
Simran had her eyes wide open when we told her we are from Missosology.Org. As usual she is confident and eloquent. We mentioned to her that the forum administrator Rajat is complaining that we haven't listed her in the interview request but hey Raj, here's the evidence to the contrary.
Simran is a Missosology.Org visitor and guess what she is just amazed by all the comments and all the bashings in the forum. We apologized for all the bashings of course but we emphasized that it is part of the fun! She totally agreed with us!
Missosology: What can you say about your performance during the preliminaries?
That was not my 100%. I know I should give it but I just went with the flow. I enjoyed every moment. I was living in a moment. I had an amazing time.
Missosology: Do you think you will win?
Yes because I have the confidence from within. I believe in myself and if you believe in yourself then you will just get confident.

I love you all and you have been great. And I do visit the forum. The way you bash the candidates its fun reading that.It's amazing how you guys fight with each other. When I go to the site all I can do is smile. It's so amazing the passion that you have for beauty pageants. It just crazy. You guys are crazy!
