THE DREADED QUESTION AND ANSWER PORTION!
by KIS

“OK; so the hair’s a disaster but I know my rights! Don’t trample upon them like the Talahiban does! Sorry?! Taliban?”

The grace-under-pressure smile – flared nostrils and all – was beginning to distract. Make up was amateurish. Hair was the biggest mistake of the night. And the gown was so badly cut and ill-fitting it made her look shabby; but Cabrera’s natural beauty let her off the hook as she gave that marvellous “women’s rights are trampled upon” reply delivered with such conviction you’d think she’s from WW. And despite the wobble towards the end, there was no way any judge could mark her down after that Taliban jibe.

“Tonight, if I win – ever – I will… prramowtuh chaerideeeeee…...tah-rzzzmmm...uhm, werlpis, yesyes, werlpisss…annduhhh……tah-rzzmmmmm…..chaeridee…tah-rr.werlpis. I always forget werlpis.”

Despite a gown that wouldn’t have looked out of place in SM’s Bad Taste Dept, Aguilar was looking quite impressive. Then the Q&A happened. Asked the easiest of questions, she spoke of charity and of dreams coming true with all the originality, wit and spontaneity of a poorly coached 70s candidate. It wasn’t so much that she missed the nuance of the question as the too-studied way she replied that made her Q&A as toe-curling and as butt-clenching to watch as Santiago’s lapse in concentration. From Pretty Polly to Pageant Patty in 1 minute.

“Although….although I am indeed short, I believe the essence of a woman goes beyond the physical. It is one’s presence that counts. It is as important as….. Yesss, Carlene, I’m wearing 5-inch heels. Now, do you mind?!"

She was incandescent! Regal, fresh and with the stage presence of a diva. All cheekbones and wide smile, Quigaman gave Aguilar a run for that W crown and I think she lost it by just two inches. She’s 5’6 while Aguilar’s 5’8-ish. Her question was the trickiest in the way that one wrong word or phrase would have sent her walking down pageant patty lane with Candidate 8; but she managed to deliver a response that was fluid, fluent, cool and confident without sounding too oratorical like Ediza or worse, disjointed like Valdez.

All in all, it was a good show. The results were good. And Madame P didn’t make a scene. Thankfully. Apparently he’d been feeling a little aggrieved that La Senora’s asking "the one who shall remain nameless" -- slaphead Alfie -- to design the gowns. Again. For the 10th time. But who could blame the Cali Princess after Madame P’s very cutting edge Charlene-On-A-Wedding-Cake trick? Anyway. The show’s too short and I wish they dragged it on until 7 in the morning of Palm Sunday. Just imagine: Madame Pitoy, La Senora and the Gang singing “Regina Coeli” while sprinkling confetti from the roof of The Coliseum!

PAGEANT AFICIONADOS SPEAK OUT!

Cebu's Pride: Melanie Ediza

On Melanie Eidza:
- Weird but Melanie has this beauty like in Gloria Diaz era. I'm afraid she might indeed take home one of the crowns. - lois
- yes you are so right - melanie has thiss classic type of beauty ala-gloria diaz. On the other hand, she kinda looks like riza samson too (the girl in that lotion-that-reduces-stretchmarks ad. - yedda mendoza
- Very 70's to early 80's ang beauty nya.. I don't think Donald Trump likes this. Miss World will have its cool, natural, stylish queens like Agbani and Azra; Miss Universe will have glitz and glamour with the likes of Oxana, Justine and Amelia and Jennifer - I don't think she s for MU, MW ok cya with her wits and very good interview skills
- It's true about Melanie. She's a mix of the classic beauty with some modern touches. But very retro BB Pilipinas days a la Moran/Diaz era. - Right Said Fred

WOW!!! Carlene Aguilar & Joanna Rafbel Serrano

On Joanna Rafbel Serrano & Carlene Aguilar
- I'm surprised with Rafbel Serrano! Her standout looks will make waves in Bangkok. She's more plump and developed right now compared in 1999. Carlene is still shining but I prefered her hair down with big curls. Serrano's hair is perfect! Emphasize those long shiny hair which Filipinas are best known for! Kudos to both! - Melanie Ford of New York and Los Angeles
- Rafbel and Carlene are both photogenic.. I need to see false eyelashes and big curls on the pageant night. Rafbel looks like Rica Peralejo. So far their bodies are long and proportionate designed to fit a Versace, Gucci, or a Roberto Cavalli.

On Carlene Aguilar

- Carlene looks the most prepared for MUU which is less than 3 months away on May 31. She is also a standout in any group picture with her vibrant personality, queenly bearing, beautiful face even if her detractors say she looks like somebody else. She is oozing with that X factor, confidence and poise. She surely knows her best angle. Barring any last minute snafu, the Bb. Pilipinas - Universe crown is now on Carlene's head. - Johanna Woodhaven
- I like the way she and her handlers aree imaginative enough to experiment on different hair styles. Carlene, noticeably doesn't stick to just 1 kind of hairstyle. I've seen her with large curls, small curls, ponytail, in a bun, straight ala Oxana, etc. At least in every pic, she seem to sport a new look, but still distinctly beautiful and very competitive! - oxana nadethronova
- If a woman standouts in a room full of women that's what you called X-factor. Carlene in a Miss Universe crowd will be noticed. Asia's face of beauty will be remembered timelessly. Gionna's beauty will be lost in translation among the Latinas like Maricar Balagtas. Rafbel and Ediza are also considered heavy contenders. Whoever wins should be sent to Osmel's Doll house in Venezuela not Colombia. Osmel is for beauty while Barrazza is for gown and costume. - Melanie Ford
- I think she's very competitive, a standdout (despite the constant campaign of certain individuals who like to use ALL CAPS to apply brakes on Carlene's obvious momentum). She registers very well on camera, and is, perhaps, the most photogenic of this year's batch. She carries herself very well, with a relaxed confidence. I hope to see one of the major crowns on her head come Saturday. I hope she's confident & articulate.
- ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESSLY BEAUTIFUL!!! SHE''S VERY PHOTOGENIC AND LOOKS LIKE A CHINA DOLL. PROPORTION! PROPORTION! PROPORTION! JUST A LITTLE POLISH WITH HER VERBAL SKILLS . STUNNING INDEED! WHO'S THAT DOLL FACE STRUTTING HER CATWALK SKILLS IN THAILAND? SHE WILL EMERGE AS THE PRETTIEST IN ASIA! - MELANIE FORD OF NY AND LA
- Carlene is the best bet to Miss Universse in Thailand, I agree with Miss Melanie Ford. She's the most prepared and ready to go to Thailand this coming May. Mga bakla lang naman ang may gusto kay Gionna Cabrera at least si Carlene, all the people like her mapa-babae man o lalake, matanda o bata, bakla o tomboy! Carlene is like an Asian Doll!
- Yes! I agree with you. She's really dettermined, gorgeous, witty and has the heart for charity work. I've never seen any candidate that's as well rounded as her. Kinda reminds me of Maria Rafaela Yunon. Who cares if she is short, that's a fact of life and a fact of the Filipina genes. We have no control over that but that doesn't make us less of a person! - oxana nadethronova

Top 5 of I Have Crabs

(1) Gionna Cabrera - Flawless. Could both be a beauty queen and a supermodel. Perfect height at 5'10, model-figure, beautiful face, and very nice mix of cosmopolitan and Filipina looks. She's the typical Charlene Gonzales who comes from a rich and educated family. Imagine the craze she will generate from Filipinos if she goes to Miss Universe. It will be a repeat of Nina Alagao's time. Her beauty is the only one that the Miss Universe organization could agree on. Try imagining other ladies standing side by side with Donald and you just could not see how it could happen. But imagine Gionna with the crown, with Donald's arm around her waist -- she simply has the oomph -- She's perfect for the crown.

(2) Precious Quigaman - X-Factor, Showbiz factor. The only flaw I see in this lady is her height. Everything else is perfect. She commands attention and is very likeable. I would love to see her in the Top 3 and eventually win any of the three crowns.

(3) Rafbel Serrano - Classy colegiala. She exudes the class of her fellow 1999 candidate, Miriam Quimbao. Her figure and demeanor is like that of Gionna Cabrera. Very likely to snag the Bb International title.

(4) Melanie Ediza - Strongest fighter. One of the spoilers come pageant night. She could win Bb Pilipinas- World if she performs well in the Q&A. She has the bearing and the perfect modeling skills. Her face is not as beautiful as Precious, but she could outdo precious anytime.

(5) Emerphina Koc - Dark horse. I have a good feeling about this girl. She is the ultimate "dark horse" this year. She comes across as very witty and ready to pull a surprise on the final night. I'm torn, however, if she does win Bb Pilipinas-Universe. She will be too short for the international competition.

ASTRON'S BINIBINI 2005 WISH LIST

Actually, this batch of beauties is quite memorable to me for its interesting mix of classic (kristine, allaine & joanna), exotic (ameurfina & mikaela), traditional (joanne, melanie & precious), showbiz (wendy & ricamarie), interracial (carlene & gionna) and modern (lois) beauties.

These girls are such strong types, they deliver an impact immediately upon appearance.

Anyway, i will proceed with my own "fearful" forecast. Or maybe i should just say "wish list," as i'm bad at these guessing games, anyway!

UNIVERSE- Carlene Aguilar. beauty, stage presence, polish, and a cunning knowledge of how the game is played. she came to win the Bb. Pilipinas-Universe title, no less. and knowing BPCI's penchant for REWARDING the most prepared girl to receive the top plum despite the presence of another girl who might be a better fit for the title, Carlene is IT. also going for her is not just a local, but an INTERNATIONAL buzz. she seems to have developed a cult following in the international pageant community, following her charming performance in Miss Earth and her truly impressive showing in Miss Chinese Int'l. It would take a force majeur to wrest the Bb. Pilipinas-Universe title from the beautiful head of this uber-sexy Chinese mestiza.

WORLD-Melanie Ediza. beauty, brains, competitive drive--an absolute necessity if you want to shine in a sea of 120+ gorgeous faces. with her excellent catwalk, dusky appeal and soft features (as opposed to Karla's more angular countenance), Melanie is an excellent fit for Miss World.

INTERNATIONAL- Gionna Cabrera. while i DO want Gionna to represent the country in MU (knowing that Jennifer Hawkins had a similarly raw projection but went on to snag the MU04 title, anyway), i am also painfully aware that Gionna just isnt ready enough to win the top plum in Binibini.

to compound her woes, her "look" is confused! her handlers can never seem to decide what kind of hairstyle or image fits her best. she looks like a prim and proper ingenue one moment, then a bedraggled lass the next. there is a way to make a girl appear stylishly mussed up, but Gionna can not seem to capture it. Kristine Santiago can, and with great appeal. i feel that Gionna simply lacks the consistency and the stamina to perform at the stratified level that Carlene, Melanie, Precious and Joanne will be in come coronation night.

Gionna is this year's Ana Marie Falcon--the girl everyone hopes will win, but in the end, she just did not deliver. let's hope that Gionna fares better. to be sure, her natural beauty, bearing and class will surely score her points, so the Bb. Pilipinas-International title is within reach.

***

Now, here are the three girls whom i feel might snag a title from under the noses of any of the three girls above:

Joanne Padilla--not a lot is said about this lady, but even from the onset of the screenings, i felt that this girl had "it." she is always dressed well, is perfectly coifed, projects excellently and manages the catwalk with the efficiency of an expert. if Gionna does not measure up to expectations, this lady can easily snag the Bb. Pilpinas Int'l title.

Kristine Santiago--she is what Marjukka Nieminen would call "heartbreakingly beautiful." it does not matter what you make her wear or however you want to mess with her hair--she is too beautiful to be uglified. some girls' gorgeousness are so in-your-face, they sometimes appear vulgar. Kristine's is a hushed kind of beauty, pretty much like Maju Mantilla's, Mira Salo's, and yes, Shermine Shahrivar's. a PERFECT fit for Miss International.

Precious Lara Quigaman--remember a petite, articulate, well-proportioned, determined and self-assured girl named Princess Jasmine Tiongson? Precious is Princess Jasmine's reincarnation this year, but even better--Precious is EXTREMELY photogenic. she has EVERYTHING to make it EXCEPT the height.

if last year's results were to be the gauge, then Precious Lara's best hope is a 2nd RU finish. HOWEVER, we also recall a petite darkhorse named Carla Gay Balingit who, because of a final answer that made a huge impact on the judges, romped away with the Bb. Pilipinas-Universe title. little Precious just might deliver the biggest punch of the night.

***
there are few others apart from these six girls whom i see fighting for a Top 5 finish.

special mention should go to both Rafbel Serrano and Katherine Aban who have both improved tremendously from their previous Binibini stints.

i feel that Rafbel's future, though, might be in print ads and TV commercials. she has a generically pretty face and charming smile that appeals to pinoys of all age, gender and class. a perfect product endorser.

Katherine, while having one of the best figures and projections, just lacks the more traditional features ascribed to a beauty queen. her future may lie in a modelling competition--much like a similarly vampy and statuesque girl named Gil Marie Pacamarra who went on to win the MTV Fashionista competition after a lacklustre performance in Binibini.

Joanna Rumohr is young and has lots of room to grow, but she seems to have a genuinely sympathetic personality. Lois Montes just might be too quirky for Binibini, but she has enough presence and chutzpah to at least advance to the semifinals.

Rica Taylor, communicator extraordinaire + the Mabuhay-trained Hazel Perez complete my Top 12 Wish List!

i am eager to get this pageant on the road! and keeping my own wish list aside, i am keeping my fingers crossed that, whoever wins, BPCI -matches- the most deserving representatives to the right pageant. cheerio!

Bets for BB Pilipinas 2005 by "bleu_carlo"

These are my bets for the three crowns:

UNIVERSE: Gionna Cabrera
- elegant, sophisticated, classic beauty...she never fails to mesmerize me...and she has Eurasian features that would make her a standout in Bangkok this May. Although her projection is quite raw, I believe that proper training from her handlers and the Colombian team can further help her in the Ms. U pageant. She already has the looks, the brains and the height...what more can you ask? She should just loosen up and conquer her nerves this Saturday and she is almost guaranteed to win one of the 3 crowns..IMHO, she is our best bet to bangkok! Go Gionna!

WORLD: Carlene Aguilar
- I believe her personality and her experience will help her in this pageant. She might also enter the semis through the fast track events...she might be a beach babe finalist, miss talent, or she might be voted by her fellow contestants like Ms. Australia 04...endless possibilities...and a crash course in mandarin could help her win over the Chinese crowd, just like Mafae and Karla...I believe that she would do really well in this pageant...with almost a hundred girls competing, her personality hill make her a standout...no need to worry about brains because I think Carlene can handle simple interviews...she only has to be witty and charming and the rest will follow...

INTERNATIONAL: Melanie Ediza or Joanna Rafbel Serrano
- Height, looks, body...Ms. I emphasizes the appearance rather than brains so these two can surely compete with the others...

TOP 5: Gionna, Carlene, Melanie, Rafbel, Kristine

look-alikes by oxana nadethronova

Rafbel - Karen Anwen de Guzman (baka mabingwit niya ang Bb. Pilipinas World title). To bad, her bady is not well toned plus is she as smart and witty as Karen?
Katherine - Kristine Alzar - actually, hindi niya talaga kamukha, hawig lang, so perfect for Bb. Pilipinas International. But Katherine is much prettier than Kristine.
Gionna Cabrera - a dead-ringer of Dindi Gallardo, former Bb. Pilipinas Universe title holder back in 1993. But Gionna is way better than Dindi.
Precious - hands-down, Miriam Quiambao sequel. Too bad, she's short at 5'6". But hey, back in 1999 Diana Noguiera is shorter than Miriam and she still got good reviews from the judges including hosts Ali Landry and Julia Moran.
Rica - Maui Taylor look alike (obvious ba?) too bad, she's just not the type Araneta is looking for. She can go straight to showbiz if she wants to.
Joanne - she's the real Ai-Ai look alike. But in fairness, she's really pretty. A pretty version of Ai-Ai. Just because you look like a comedian, doesn't make you ugly! Too bad again, she does look "too matured" for this year's fresh faces.
Carlene - she's a chinese version of Nina Alagao and a carbon copy of Janchira Janchome, 2002 Miss Thailand Universe. That makes her perfect for Bb. Pilipinas Universe title. Just keep your fingers crossed that the Miss Philippines jinx will not pull you down.
Wendy - there's an uncanny resemblance between her and the daughter of the late Nida Blanca.

to the ladies, as always good luck and keep your fingers crossed.

Sa mga nerbyosa, here are some tips from various sources:
from the UP College of Music:
before any performance, a lot of the students would eat a banana. Yes folks, banana. They say that a banana contains nutrients that help calm the nerves and helps you relax as you go on with your performance. So to the ladies, EAT A BANANA before going on stage.

from the TV series Ally McBeal:
John Cage, before going on trial, while preparing his closing arguments, would walk around barefooted. Walking barefooted, with your feet in direct contact with the floor, be it carpeted or cemented, gives you a sort of cooling effect that helps reduce nervousness. To the ladies, before going on stage, remove your high heels and walk around barefooted. Just make sure you don't step into thumb tacks or whatever that may cause bleeding.

from Mark Bautista, runner up to Sarah Geronimo:
Put a coin in your shoes (in your case heels) on the heels section. A coin, (not sure whether a P1.- coin) in direct contact with your heels might neutralize your feeling of nervousness.

from the Catholic Church:
prayers can move mountains. And so does nervousness.

from Dale Carnegie:
breathing exercises really helps calm the nerves. Before going on stage, take deep breaths.

from public speaking teachers:
push your left hand thumb to your right hand palm (like pushing a button or like texting a message thru your cellphone, but instead of using your right hand, use your left hand). While pressing, take deep breaths. Don't know what the pressing of the thumb is for but if it help, why not.

from the circle of friends:
wish each other GOODLUCK. Don't be too selfish and in the end, the selfless lady might just win.

I hope this helps. So to the ladies and to anyone who wants to battle nervousness, try any of the tips. Rememeber that in public speaking and in any engagements, NERVOUSNESS is a natural human reaction. You just have to learn to control it.

GOODLUCK and may the best LADY WIN!

Ladies & Gentlemen, the diamond among the pearls...

Precious Lara Quigaman

"Well, what can i say about this gal... she simply takes my breath away!" There is BEAUTY in every single inch of her. I've seen her before when she was in highschool, studying at La Consolacion in Binan,Lag. and all i can say is that she really is B-E-A-utiful! She acts & sings pretty well..(she played a major role in a stage play during their HS days). She even won 1st-runner up at Eat Bulaga's search for TeeVee Babe. She's SMART, very POISED, and oozing with CHARM & GRACE - the epitome of a Filipina beauty. No doubt that she can put another milestone in the history of Philippine pageantry. But personally, i prefer her seeing at the MS WORLD and be the 1st Filipina to win that crown.

I know that she can't please everybody...specially those judgemental people who were born to be the detractors/critizisers of this world, but who cares! She might not have that "towering height" that you're looking for, but i can assure you guys.. she will be the next Filipina that we could all be very proud of! That's why i have my full support on her, as well as to the other ladies who will be our ambassadors for this year.

Go, go, go... my Precious..

Precious Quigaman for MW

"I used to say " I want to represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe Pageant," but recently I've researched about the Miss World beauty pageant and their cause inspires me. They are involved in a lot of charity works that focus on children's need, etc. This is what I want to get myself involve in. I want to make use of my time in helping the children. But saying all that, I'd be happy to win any of the other titles..."
Precious Lara Quigaman

I hope she'll be given the chance...

Precious for MU or MW or MI!!!

Why do i pick Precious for MW??

*first of all, MW is not a pageant who looks for the next can-be top IMG or Ford SuperModels... it's a Beauty Pageant looking for "Beauty With a Purpose" -- the one who can represent women of the World, and fulfill the organization's noble objectives. Precious may not have that "towering height" that we all wanted but we can't deny that she is a "Beauty with Substance." I believe her total packaging will shine from the rest of the girls...

*She can easily win a fast-track event at MW. With that charisma, charm & bubbly personality, plus the undeniably proportionate sexy body = she can easily win the Beach-Beauty event. Precious can also sing and act so she can be a finalist in the Talent competition. Bearing elegance and poise, she can walk "The Walk" = she can also be a finalist in the Modelling event.

Having the brains and eloquece in speaking, she can talk "The Talk"-- she can be a top pick to be a MW Spokesperson, just like Karla last year.

She expresses great determination and PASSION to be involved on charity works, specially for the children's welfare

Because she's truly lovely, pretty, captivating and so exciting...

Again, i have my full support on her. I just hope and pray that she'll be given the chance...

A real Beauty, a real Binibini...

"Where did you get those lovely eyes, this pretty lady

and those exciting winsome smile, this binibini?

Where did you learn to move like graceful palm trees in the breeze?

What magic does she have, what miracle is this..?"

"Who wouldn't love the way your skin was kissed by golden sunlight,

this fascinating gem so rare..?

She's a perfect symbol of people rich in heritage and LOVE

What a lovely, pretty, captivating, so exciting,

Woman that will surely win your hearts..."

Talikod-genic

See, mapaharap o likod...maganda si Precious (unlike those taller girls..)

Comments on Precious
- Hello Precious Lover, IM BANKING ON HERR TO WIN THE BB.PIL WORLD CROWN...SANA NGA..DEADMA NA KUNG 5'6". CARRY NA RIN YUN..AS LONG AS KABUGERA SYA...GO PRECIOUS!! - TOMASINO
- If precious joined the pageant in the 660s or 70s, she would have been a hands-down winner. She's got that classic look and an hourglass figure that perfectly fit the aesthetic paradigm in those decades. I like her a lot. She's in my top 10 list from the beginning. But, somehow, I do not think she would be a competitive representative in any of the top three international pageants. However, I wouldn't be disappointed if she does win one of the crowns. SHE'S VERY BEAUTIFUL, BUT SHE WAS BORN 30 YEARS TOO LATE. - Mrs. Paeng ADIK of Norfolk
- I love the way she strutt. She reminds me of Miriam Q but she has curver body than the latter. Although Miriam is taller than her. She should win one of the crowns. - Crown Maker
- Precious is BEAUTIFUL! The next Miriam Quiambao indeed. She has a body to die for, great projection, spontaneous speaker, and confident. She should reperesent us in MW! She is the perfect candidate for that pageant.
- Precious is not that "pandak" - - she hhas a God-given height and she can carry herself pretty well. She knows how to maximize her God-given beauty and use it for a noble cause. Her beauty shines from within, and no doubt that people like you will never ever have a chance to see that, unless you enlighten yourselves.. Her total packaging is enough to beat other taller girls, and i'm sure she can bring home any of the 3 major titles...if given the chance.
- Petite girls still have a chance thoughh. Take for example Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan, both are below 5'4" and yet they managed to grace a lot of magazines. Include last year's Miss Belgium World who got noticed despite being short at 5'4". Though it;'s a long shot if you're short, but height isn't always everything. It is a plus but definitely not everything -- oxana nadethronova

Preciosa Precious! Pawee (no i'm not Precious' lover)

.....but, I love her too!

VA-VA-VOOM

a body to die for!

PERFECT COVER GIRL for Ocean Drive/VOGUE

PRECIOUS LARA QUIGAMAN
alternate choice for Bb. Pilipinas World
my TOP 5 choice!

Pawee's choice for Bb. Pilipinas International

Joanna Rafbel Serrano, Candidate #7

What is so instantly likeable about Rafbel is her bubbly & sunny personality. With that full-smile of hers, anyone would feel at ease with her. Her refreshing aura separates her from the rest of the girls. I chose Rafbel for Miss International because I believe that her Eurasian features would be simply recognized by the Japanese/Chinese panel.

This girl has improved tremendously from her last stint in Bb. Pilipinas 6 years ago where she ended as a semifinalist & recipient of the Miss Ponds-Beautiful Skin award. Last year, I accurately predicted Maan Bayot to win the Bb. Pilipinas International title. I hope Rafbel would shine during the coronation night. She has what it takes to win any of the three titles.

Alternate choices for Miss International:
1. Precious Lara Quigaman
2. Kristine Santiago
3. Mari-Flor Perez
4. Wendy Valdez
5. Allaine Asuncion
6. Katherine Aban
7. Stephanie Magali
(Carlene Aguilar, Gionna Cabrera)

Pawee's choice for Bb. Pilipinas World

Gionna Cabrera, Candidate # 17
This is where she scores big points: without overstatement, she is the most appealing binibini of 2005. Gionna is also one of the nicest candidates around, which makes her even more attractive. I'd like to point out though that in many occasions, Gionna looks annoying especially when she gives out that particular pout that distracts her features. Her catwalk skills are also very raw. If she walks away with the Bb. Pilipinas crown, I suppose her weak points can be easily remedied in two months time. At 5'10", Gionna is truly an arresting figure. She can make waves either in China (Miss World) or Thailand (Miss Universe) & do us proud!

Alternate choices for Miss World:
(Carlene Aguilar)
1. Melanie Ediza
2. Precious Lara Quigaman
3. Joanne Padilla
4. Joanna Rafbel Serrano
5. Katherine Aban
6. Rica Taylor
7. Kristine Santiago

Pawee's choice for Bb. Pilipinas Universe

Carlene Aguilar, Candidate # 8

Take note of this: Carlene always does something that would separate herself from the pack. During her appearances, she put herself forward by making keen efforts to wow the crowd. Constantly refreshing, she never fails to look good (the main reason why I'm rooting for her)! Many may question her communication skills but interviews are not highlighted anymore at Miss Universe. Last year, the Miss Universe pageant only included that portion for the Top 5 compared to usual practice wherein interviews are done thrice during the finals. Anyway, Carlene won't make it to the University of the Phils if there's nothing up there.

Carlene is no diva compared to other girls who take the pageant too seriously. With her playful personality, she also knows how to have fun! Her curves, mix of Filipino & Chinese looks make her undeniably sexy.

You may not believe me if I tell you that she reminds me a lot of last year's Miss Universe 3rd runner-up Yanina Gonzalez of Paraguay. Just like Yanina (one of my all-time fave beauty queens), Carlene has an incredible presence and sensuality. She manages to control the catwalk that creates impact. Fight for that crown, Carlene! You can make it! =)

Alternate choices for Miss Universe:
(Gionna Cabrera)
1. Melanie Ediza
2. Joanna Rafbel Serrano
3. Precious Lara Quigaman
4. Kristine Santiago
5. Joanne Padilla
6. Hazel Flores
7. Ameurfina Koc
