Karla became very close to her Asian compatriots. Her "bestfriend" in the pageant is Miss Thailand, Dulaya Pralangisait (also, her roommate). Miss Wales Amy Guy and Miss Ireland, Natasha Nigairbheirth were also one of her closest friends.
