Ma. Karla Bautista, Bb. Pilipinas World 2004 Before leaving for Sanya China, the venue of the Miss World 2004 Pageant, BPCI held a send-off party for Bb. Pilipinas World Maria Karla Bautista. Present in the event were Karla's family, relatives, friends, fellow beauty queens, BPCI staff, the press, photographers, well-wishers and supporters.
Our bet, Maria Karla Rabanal Bautista, agrees with how the winner would be chosen. She said, "The Miss World Pageant is definitely improving their selection process in keeping up with the trend of reality TV. I believe that it is but right for the whole world to choose their winner, the viewers should have their say."
The 20-year-old Cebuana charmer stands 5’9" and measures 34-25-36. Originally studying in UP Cebu, she had to transfer to UP Diliman after winning to be able to attend her numerous training sessions on poise, projection, makeup, walking and decorum given to her by former Bb. Pilipinas title holders Miriam Quiambao, Karen Agustin, Maricar Balagtas, Carla Gay Balingit and Maan Bayot, to name a few.

Dale Carnegie Executive Training Institute is also instrumental in preparing her for the pageant. She took a crash course in Mandarin from Berlitz and feels confident that she would be able to fulfill every Filipino’s dream of having a winner in the Miss World Pageant. Her previous experience in the pageants she joined has helped her to be more confident and competitive. She was last year’s Miss Cebu, a finalist in the SuperModel Philippine search in 2001, SM Star Model winner of Cebu in 2001 and a finalist in the Miss Perfect 10 in Cebu as well.
Karla joined the Bb. Pilipinas because it was among her late mother’s last wishes. The former Lucita Rabanal passed away two years ago."She has always been my source of strength and inspiration, I always dedicate my triumphs and victories to her," she enthused. Karla has been co-hosting with German Moreno in his late night TV show Master Showman, thus paving the way to enter showbiz in the near future. As of now, the future broadcaster and lawyer has her eyes set on the Miss World crown.
 
After the successes of Katherine Manalo & Rafaela Yunon in the past 2 editions of the Miss World pageant, do you think Karla can surpass their feats & continue the winning streak of the Philippines?
